Why run for us?

The Ear Trust has started an appeal to raise £2.5 million to build a ‘Listening for Life Centre’ in Bradford. This will enable us to expand and continue our pioneering work that we started 17 years ago at The Yorkshire Cochlear Implant unit assessing and treating hundreds of profoundly deaf babies, young children and adults in the North of England

Why help the deaf?

Deafness will afflict nearly all of us as we approach old age. But can you imagine if you were born deaf or the impact of losing your hearing and not being able to hear your mother’s voice or your babies cry? Our patients and families tell us how fantastic it is to see the wonder on a child’s face when they first ear sounds. These twins received their Cochlear Implants a few years ago. They are part of our implant team – but still too young to be part of the running team.
